Neighbourhoods

North

North Kerkrade is an area steeped in history. Here you’ll find several cultural gems, including the Eygelshoven Chapel, Laethof, and the Baalsbrugger Windmill. It’s also an area full of mining history and green spaces such as the Loosbos, the Burgemeester Boijensbos, the Carisborg, and the Worm Valley. When it comes to residential facilities, North Kerkrade has a wide range of shops for your everyday needs, multiple sports facilities, a community centre, and the famous weekly market in Eygelshoven.

West

West Kerkrade has plenty to offer. When it comes to sports and recreation, the Rodaboulevard is the place to be. Here you will find the Parkstad Limburg Stadium and the LeisureDome, just to a name a few. West Kerkrade has several primary schools, a wide range of shops and plenty of sports clubs. You can also pay a visit to the beautiful Botanical Gardens. Don’t miss the annual Terwinseler Street Market with its stalls, shows, and games.

East

East Kerkrade includes the vibrant town centre that has much to offer. Cosy cafés, outstanding restaurants, a wide range of shops and a packed calendar of events. East Kerkrade has all that and much more. It’s home to a growing list of hotspots such as HuB, plus numerous green spaces and historic gems, including the Municipal Park, the Anstel Valley, Cranenweyer reservoir, Erenstein Castle, Rolduc Abbey, and Schacht Nulland, a former mine shaft.
